As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote This school is fantastic in all aspects. The teachers and staff help you no matter what the problem is. The team puts in the extra effort for students and ensures everyone is on the right track. The counselors will have you ready for college and prepare you in every way. There is a lot of pride in the sports teams here, with multiple championships won in the past couple of years. The students you meet here come from all parts of the world with friendly personalities. The variety of classes expands your knowledge with AP classes, diverse technology classes, college now classes, and multiple foreign language classes. Close Quote

Open Quote There are so many opportunities and connections that you can get in this school. There are so many clubs, and if you're ever in doubt, you can always create your club by having your friends or people come with you. There are always people (both staff and students) willing to help you when in need. Everyone is super supportive and makes the school seem like a big, cozy community. This school is very motivating and provides many mental health resources to all students. The school pays attention to its students, which is excellent in such a rigorous environment. Close Quote

Open Quote I just graduated Dewey this past June and I can genuinely say I had the best four years of high school. The teachers are great with the students and try their best to work with the students and their situations. The STEM Academy program has some accelerating teachers who helps to provide students with as much opportunities as possible. The school productions will leave you with your mouth open by how amazing they are. Overall Dewey is just a great high school where you create a family with. If you're looking for a computer science high school, Dewey's the place to go. Close Quote

Open Quote Dewey is a great high school! The teachers really care about students’ success and happiness, and are always there to help. We’re kept very updated at this school, and I’ve never felt lost. This has been especially helpful lately as I am getting ready to apply to colleges! Something very apparent walking through the halls is Dewey’s pride. The students are constantly coding, dancing, drawing, etc. We’re offered a huge variety of AP Courses along with really unique electives (Computer Science, Robotics, Business Management, Culinary Arts, Pre-Med, Law, Dance, Studio Art, Theatre, etc.) Dewey is great for experiencing different classes, cultures and making friends. About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
