The school is part of the Cobb County School District, which is ranked 52 out of 203 districts in Georgia and has a 4-star rating from SchoolDigger. Kincaid Elementary has consistently performed well, ranking in the top 20% of Georgia elementary schools in recent years, with a 4- or 5-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Kincaid Elementary consistently outperforms the Cobb County and Georgia averages on the Milestones Assessment, with 75.4% of 5th-grade students proficient or better in ELA, compared to 57.9% in Cobb County and 48.2% statewide. The school also has a relatively low student-teacher ratio, ranging from 12.2 to 13.1 over the past three years, and a lower percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch (24.05% in 2022-2023) compared to many nearby schools. Additionally, Kincaid Elementary has a higher per-student spending level, ranging from $10,267 to $11,380 over the past three years, compared to the nearby schools.

These factors, including the school's consistent high performance, efficient use of resources, and supportive learning environment, contribute to Kincaid Elementary's success. While the school outperforms many of its peers in the Cobb County and Marietta City districts, there is still room for improvement, particularly in areas where it lags behind the top-performing schools in the region, such as Murdock Elementary and Mountain View Elementary.

Open Quote Teachers are great for the majority, some are not great at all... some counselors are Wonderful but some should not be in the profession and breaks trust of the children. The main leadership is ran in a tyrannical sort of style (from our two years of experience and comments from staff). We took our children out of this counter productive environment. Trust me on this. Open Quote Both of my children attend Kincaid and have since Kindergarten (now in 2nd and 5th). The Principal and Asst. Principal are very engaged and effective. The PTA is second to none and has won a national award. We've had great teachers, very devoted to the kids. PE, Art and Music are standouts here as well. The school is one of the smaller ones in Cobb Count and there is really a family feel. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
