Open Quote The staff at this school seem to not be concerned with helping children with disabilities. They especially do not assist children with a parent with a disability.
Some things are so simple to do to ensure the proper advocacy is allowed for both parents and students but the staff at Sawyer fail to do what is needed. Close Quote

Open Quote Sawyer Road Elementary is a fantastic and diverse school. The IB program is wonderful and my children have thrived in this school. They offer so much more than just academics - Art, Music/Drama, Spanish, hands on Science Lab and fun STEM Activities in the classrooms. SRE has been a great fit for my family and a wonderful community. We lucked out that we’re districted for Sawyer! Close Quote

Open Quote We love this school! It really isn't a school as much as a family! My second son just started Kindergarten this year and he is excited to get up and go to school everyday! The teachers and staff are amazing and dedicated to all the children who attend. The International Baccalaureate curriculum is second to none and the Marietta City Schools district offers children the chance for the IB diploma when graduating high school. This is highly sought after by colleges! Wouldn't think of sending my children anywhere else! Go take a tour and you will see what it is all about! Close Quote

Open Quote This school is truly exceptional. Being an IB school sets this school apart from any other in Cobb County. The teachers are passionate about the IB PYP program and the students love this type of learning environment. We are still shocked that we can get this type of education for our children from a public school! Once you step through the doors, you will know there is no comparison. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
