As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote I have been very pleased that my kids are attending this school. Admittedly my children are interested in the STEM fields so they fit in really well at this school. The school is small and the faculty and staff know the kids really well. I feel that my kids are safer and less likely to be bullied compared to much bigger high schools. The curriculum is quite rigid so a student who is not into science and math will probably have a hard time in this school. The limited course offerings and choices for electives may be off putting for some students and parents but for us this is good since the students are less confused about what classes to take and are assured of a challenging curriculum. I also appreciate that these classes are very hands-on. There is less emphasis on AP classes and catering to standardized test. In exchange for this the students get the chance to enroll in interesting and challenging classes on their area of concentration. There is also an opportunity for the students to do an internship and their own research via the Executive Experience which is unheard of in other schools. The areas of concentration are on Biology, Engineering, Environmental Science and Computers. I do wish that there could be more offerings on languages other than Spanish. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
