As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Seaview Elementary is unsurpassed in parent and teacher involvement. The money raised for the Linwood schools helps to provide the latest classroom technology, along with the best selection of books for book club reads, as well as our Seaview and classroom libraries. The PTO, LEF, teachers, staff, area businesses, and volunteers all help to enhance the learning and FUN experiences both in and out of the classrooms here at Seaview, and on through to Belhaven. We love the Linwood school system and all that it has to offer! Close Quote

Open Quote Seaview is an excellent school, I can't say enough positive things about it. The teachers are devoted to teaching, and not only teach the material, they know and love your kids. Most teachers encourage parents to email them with concerns, and they have always been prompt to respond. The principal is very involved with the students and promotes a good morale and family atmosphere in the school. They have a very active PTO and Education Foundation which provide the best of technology in the classroom and extra programming for the students. Class sizes are small, and there are lots of support staff to assist in the classroom when there are kids that need extra help or supervision. The child study team goes above and beyond to provide the kids with whatever services they need. Many people from other areas told me I'd have to "fight" for my kids to get them the necessary services; this is not the case at Seaview, as they evaluate the kids and offer even more services than you knew you needed. Taxes are high in Linwood, but it is worth it considering you won't have to pay for private schools. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
