As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote I graduated from this highschool. I can personally testify to the dedication and hard work put in by the teachers and the rest of the staff who make it possible for youth to have a second chance at their education. If I had not changed school and started attending East Texas Charter, I would have probably dropped out of highschool. East Texas Charter gave me a 'home away from home' that helped me get through some of the bad times and social problems/ abuse at home. Terry Lapic is a man who will lend his ear to a student; he actually LISTENS and cares about the students he serves. Some of the teachers there are the best I have ever had, and that's saying alot because I went to several different school districts. I love the the way the staff comes together to give students the support and encouragement they need, and yet the respect and freedoms of an individual because they realize that the highschool students aren't just numbers in a classroom.

They teachers and staff at East Texas Charter are some of the most professional, efficient, underated, unappreciated, and underpayed teachers I have ever met in my life. The truth is, they do what they do because of their dedication and LOVE for the students, NOT for money!

I fully reccomend this school Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
