As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Try not to send your kid here. The school has to many social problems to overcome to be successful. High drop out rate. High teenage bith rate. My child left completely unprepared for college. She has to take remedial courses in math and english at a community college. If you have an issue with the school administration it falls on deaf ears. Kids are not allowed to take school textbooks home. School staff told me they are afraid the books get stolen. Difficult study environment. There is no SAT prep. The school environment will bring your kids education level down. Kids at other schools have counselors help with college admissions and scholarship applications. At lehman your are on your own. I am truly disgusted with the admin staff, teacher quality, school environment and academics. Close Quote

Open Quote Lehman is absolutely the worse High School I have ever been associated with. Yes my son did graduate but Lehman just pushes students through. The administration is very bad and they do not support the parents. They give more rights to the students and do not help the parents in guiding their student to do what is right. I would not let my child attend this high school and I will not have my 2 younger children attend. I'd rather send them to a private school than to be associated with this terrible school. If I could give a quarter star I would but 1 star was the minimum. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
