As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Coming from highly rated (Howell, NJ) elementary schools, this school was a MAJOR disappointment. While I had NO complaints about my younger child's teachers (grades 2 and 3), I experienced nothing but problems with the teachers and the curriculum dished out by the higher grade teachers (grades 4 and 5). Because this is such a low-performing district, I feel that my older child was being dumbed down to match the abilities of other children in the class, to the point of my older child being told that he was not allowed to read more advanced material than his classmates (some who read at several grade levels below 5th grade). The district implements a program from The American Reading Company which is a JOKE and a major waste of taxpayers' money to the tune of around $350,000, and other subjects such as math, science and social studies fall to the wayside and suffer greatly. Parents, if you are considering moving to this district, please do your homework and reconsider if you want your children in a great school. This is not it. The situation was so bad it was a major factor in moving my family elsewhere. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
