Fremont H Teed Middle School

Summary:

Fremont H Teed Middle School is a public middle school in Kuna, Idaho, serving 558 students in grades 6-8. The school is part of the Kuna Joint District, which is ranked 42 out of 77 districts in the state and has a 2-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Fremont H Teed Middle School faces several challenges, including consistently underperforming the state and district averages on ISAT tests, with proficiency rates in Math (35.4%), Science (33.5%), and English Language Arts (43.8%) all lower than the state and district. The school's performance is particularly concerning for female and white students, who rank in the bottom half of Idaho middle schools, while Hispanic students perform relatively better. Additionally, the school has experienced a significant increase in chronic absenteeism, rising from 8.6% in 2020-2021 to 22.6% in 2022-2023, higher than the state and district averages.

Compared to nearby schools, Fremont H Teed Middle School's academic performance lags behind many of its peers, particularly Victory Middle School and Sawtooth Middle School, both in the higher-performing Joint School District No. 2. The school's racial makeup, with a high percentage of white students and a relatively low percentage of Hispanic students, may be a factor in the performance gaps observed between these subgroups, and the increase in chronic absenteeism and free/reduced lunch rates may be indicative of broader socioeconomic challenges faced by the school's student population.

As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote The school is ran poorly. They have put amazing teachers in place to educate the students. However, the superintendent through the principal do not support the staff which trickles down through the student population. We are changing districts! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
