Summary:

Lillian C. Poole Elementary School is a public elementary school serving grades PK-5 in Dallas, Georgia, with a student enrollment of 470. The school is part of the Paulding County School District, which is ranked 87 out of 203 districts in Georgia and has a 3-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Lillian C. Poole Elementary generally performs below the Paulding County and Georgia state averages on the Milestones Assessments, with lower proficiency rates in English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science. For example, in 2023-2024, the school's 3rd grade ELA proficiency rate was 42.9% compared to 39% for Paulding County and 38.4% for Georgia, and the 5th grade Math proficiency rate was only 28.2% compared to 35.1% for Paulding County and 41% for Georgia. The school also has a relatively high percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch, ranging from 48.37% to 55.53% over the past few years, which is higher than the district average. However, Lillian C. Poole Elementary has a higher per-student spending level and a lower student-teacher ratio compared to some nearby schools, which may indicate efforts to address these challenges.

When comparing Lillian C. Poole Elementary to other nearby schools in the Paulding County district, it generally underperforms on test scores compared to higher-ranked schools like C.A. Roberts Elementary, Union Elementary, and New Georgia Elementary. While Lillian C. Poole Elementary has struggled to maintain a higher ranking and performance level, the data suggests there may be opportunities for the school to implement targeted interventions and strategies to improve student learning and achievement.

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
