Open Quote This school is undoubtly one of the worst elementary schools in the area. Their primary concern is fund-raisers & "overly-nutricious rabbit food lunches & snacks". It is unsanitary, children are not permitted to wash thier hands when they want to, only when allowed and with all of the illnesses & deadly viruses going around, I am appaled by that. The day the kids went back to school after Christmas break, the school was freezing cold w/little or NO heat at all. Hello-After having a building closed down for 1 & 1/2 weeks have someone come in a couple days in advance to turn on the boiler, NOT the morning of. Teachers are rude, not even thanking parents for Christmas gifts, the school nurse made my child seem "blind" by the eye test given, so as a parent I wa instructed to take her for an eye exam and low & behold, my childs eye-sight was 20/20 via a 30 minute exam by a professional and many dollars later. The eye dr. could not even believe we were there! RIDICULOUS! Does you child go to school and come home missing all of there belongings & no idiot in the school has any clue where they are after numerous calls to the office & a teacher that took 6 days to return a call? Well my child has and its all a big joke to them. Well let me tell you, shove your fundraisers ou know where & pay me back 40.00 plus dollars for my childs "lost" items. If you move to the north pocono area, please think about home-school or Moscow Elementary, it is a much better school with a lot more organization and concentraion on the children. I have many more issues, but not time or space to continue. The state will hear my concerns, whether thay help me or not, it does'nt matter, it gives me the satisfaction that I am a concerned parent and would like the idiocy of that school stopped. Thank you for listening. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
