Eastmont Elementary's academic performance, as measured by Ohio State Test scores, is generally lower than the state and district averages across various grade levels and subjects. The school has also experienced high chronic absenteeism rates, reaching 43.4% in the 2021-2022 school year, which is significantly higher than the state average. Eastmont Elementary has consistently ranked in the bottom quarter of Ohio elementary schools, with a ranking of 1080 out of 1577 schools in the 2023-2024 school year and a 2-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Interestingly, Eastmont Elementary's performance for specific student subgroups, such as African American students and students with disabilities, is relatively stronger compared to the overall school performance. However, the school's per-student spending of $10,002 in the 2018-2019 school year is lower than the nearby Kemp Elementary ($11,665) and Horace Mann Elementary ($11,096), which may contribute to the school's lower academic performance. Additionally, the nearby Montgomery Preparatory Academy, a public charter school, has significantly lower academic performance and higher chronic absenteeism rates compared to Eastmont Elementary and the other nearby public schools.

As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote I went to eastmont from 1st to 5th grade and i hated it, the atmosphere was aggressive and unsupportive. Although there were a few teachers that actually did their job, most just gave out busy work and then went on to do something else without really teaching the students. The teachers could not control the children and even framed children for offences without a shred of evidence to back up their story. It would have been an enlightening experience accept for the fact that i was young and my mind was easily molded. In the end I believe that if you are looking to send your child to eastmont park school, keep looking cause there are definately better schools than that one. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
