Open Quote This school is a representation of what is wrong with the educational system. When they say traditional, they mean memorization, old school methods, no creativity, constant boredom for the kids, and no problem-solving skills. Anyone can memorize a poem and fill out a book report form. Why are we still insisting on teaching kids to be mindless memorizers instead of thinkers and problem solvers? I have 3 kids in this school. My first is doing well his personality enjoys structure and routine, but he even complains that he doesn’t want to go because they just do the same thing over and over. My second child is doing poorly she is a creative and her teacher even admitted that in 1st grade, they sit still in their desks for over 5 hours per day, and there is very little creative activities. The majority of 6 year olds are not equipped to sit still for that long, they need play and hands-on learning. My oldest child is doing well academically, and enjoys that he is able to go to PE multiple times per week. However, I feel like he is academically stalled from where he was last year simply because he is bored and the work is repetitive. He also recently complained that his teacher is on her phone constantly and is not engaged in class. The class size is way too large to be effective, especially with an advanced curriculum. All three of my kids classes have between 32-35 students and no aide. The campus is beautiful, but that does not make a good school. I really regret taking my kids out of their old school to go to Legacy. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
