As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote One must take into consideration other aspects besides the standardized testing statistics offered when viewing this profile. Please keep in mind that the school itself does not decide the student teacher ratio. That is dictated by the school district. The staff of William Allen School work tirelessly to educate the students they have entrusted to them daily. They are a wonderful, caring bunch of teachers who do their absolute best under circumstances beyond their control. My children attended this school and they are doing wonderfully. Test scores do NOT tell the whole story! Close Quote

Open Quote Allen school is the worst school you can possibally send your child to. The teachers over look students who are advanced and treat them like they have behavior issus do to the fact that they arnt challenging advanced students. there are to many student per teacher and most times teachers are right out ofcollege with no prior experence woking with kids. the principalwill listen to parents concerns and tell them what they wanna here then nothing happens. They let kindergarden students go out for recess with no coats on in winter and say its the child job to remember to put a coat on! un bealevable the lack of care for our children. other students kick and hit other students and even after diciplinary measures were taken the behavior continues! do not send your child here. Allen school is lowest ranked school in all rochester school district. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
