Line Creek Elementary

Summary:

Line Creek Elementary is a public elementary school in Kansas City, Missouri, serving 364 students in grades K-5. The school is part of the Park Hill School District, which is ranked 76 out of 386 districts in the state and has a 4-star rating.

Despite the district's strong performance, Line Creek Elementary has consistently ranked in the bottom half of Missouri elementary schools over the past 10 years. The school's academic performance on state assessments is generally below the district and state averages, particularly in mathematics, where only 16.8% of 5th-grade students were proficient or better, compared to 44.8% in the Park Hill district and 38.4% statewide. As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote We moved to Line Creek in Fall 2013, so have had a year and a half in the system after moving from out of state (from a newer, 9/10-graded GreatSchools.org elementary.)

I'd have to say Line Creek leaves that other school in the dust. We loved the previous school and were very involved there as parents (as we are at LC), but didn't know what we were missing.

Line Creek offers diversity, has a great group of teachers who CARE about their students, and a wealth of after-school clubs and activities that no one forces them to do -- the teachers want to do them.

My kids are definitely more well-rounded and have much more of a community mindset, and are better off having attended Line Creek. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
