Open Quote My child tested 91% for high abiility and was not being challenged at her then current school especially in math she was actually encourage to "dumb it down". I searched out a school and district that could accommadate involving parents as well as engaging students in school base performance as well as the arts and Whispering Meadows was the one. We purchased a home in the district and could not be happier with the results. Great school, great neighborhood and excellent learning and growing enviroment. Close Quote

Open Quote I found this rating page listed on the Whispering Meadows website. Many reviews posted on the school webpage are very positve and rank the school high. I am really wondering if all parents have been contacted to leave ratings. For a suburban school district with highly involved and educated parents of middle class students, I would not rate this school high or excellent. I think the school does not work well with the excellent resources provided by families and the community. Staff does a very fine job of shutting out families, not communicating and many staff members treat parents and even students in a dismissive manner. Many teachers appear to be self-absorbed. I believe a school such as Whispering Meadows should do better for all students including struggling learners. I do not think classroom teachers know how to help struggling learners and lean heavily on great test scores from the high number of self motivated students. Education is a challenging job. Is this school really up to the challenge or just relying on their high achievers to make them look good? Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
