Open Quote We came from an exceptional school in NC. FFMS is what a middle school should be. Students are being well prepared for HS by being held accountable for their work. We have seen our child grow to be less reliant on us for their school work and seen grades improve. Close Quote

Open Quote The Brookwood School cluster is not what it appears to be.The teachers are so concerned with proving a point and showing you that it's their classroom that they forget to be caring. They oftentimes do not give a fair warning for a test/quiz so the students do not have time to prepare.More often than not there are no books that a child can bring home to study from. And forget aout a study guide. I have had teachers that do not allow students to retake quizzes eventhough this is the policy.Forget about going to administration.Beware if you have the slightest concern because the good ol'boys and girls have long memories and you will be viewed as a complainer and not as a concerned parent! Which is speaks volumes.I was wondering if things would change if we (the parents) started to speak out (news/county). If you have bought you a trap (house) in this school cluster, pray that you never have a concern about your child.Pray that you never have a concern about their almighty practices either.Needless to say, I am not pleased with this school cluster to say the least. The bottom line is that students can't learn without books and caring teachers! STAY AWAY FROM THIS ENTIRE CLUSTER! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
