Summary:

Cleveland Road Elementary School is a public elementary school located in Bogart, Georgia, serving grades PK-5 with a total enrollment of 284 students. The school is part of the Clarke County School District, which is ranked 146 out of 203 districts in Georgia and has a 1-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Cleveland Road Elementary School has consistently underperformed compared to the state and county averages in the Milestones Assessment for English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science. The school has a low statewide ranking, consistently placing in the bottom half of Georgia elementary schools, and has a 3-star rating from SchoolDigger. The school serves a predominantly economically disadvantaged population, with a very high percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch, ranging from 81.56% to 82.75% over the past few years. Despite the relatively high per-student spending and low student-teacher ratio, the school is still struggling academically, which raises questions about the effective allocation and utilization of resources within the school and the district.

When comparing Cleveland Road Elementary School to other nearby schools in the Clarke County School District, it becomes evident that the school is underperforming academically. Schools like Johnnie Lay Burks Elementary and Timothy Elementary, which are also in the same district, have significantly higher test scores and statewide rankings. However, the data suggests that with the right strategies and resource allocation, Cleveland Road Elementary School may have the potential to improve and better serve its students.

Open Quote I did like CRES but over the years it has change a lot. It is not what it used to be. There is not a lot of parent involvement activities like when my kids where younger. I feel like the minorities are not credited for the good academic n behavior achievements. When we have activities to participate the awards always go to the majority kids. I feel as a parent that my daughter is so bright but she doesn't get the credited she deserves at CRES. My daughter this school year 2018 hasn't received any awards for her academics achievements. CRES needs to credited students for their academic n behavior accomplishments. It lacks that a lot. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
