Open Quote K through 8 schools are not a smart choice for our generation, so many young people are literally going without learning anything at these types of schools. They are just way to large. Most of the faculty’s staff need better training and, learning skills on how to handle situations in a more positive manner. I believe a teacher should not act out and yell and speak slang when talking to students. Adults should lead a good example. Also, most teachers talk about students’ around other students, wouldn’t it be professional and better for a teacher to learn not to gossip while doing their jobs. One teacher placed a child’s failing grade on the board for all the class to see the grade. I’m a parent from the outside looking in and these are issues I know a lot of concern parents face. There are so many schools fights and when I ask the administrators , the teachers failed to report those type of things. This school is ran very poorly and the board of education really needs to take a look at it. Close Quote

Open Quote From Office Staff, Principals, Teachers i have always had a positive feedback, best school in the city of Pooler. They have programs for all the students and encourage parents to participate in all activities. Military friendly since we are 15 miles from military installation. Best experience ever. Close Quote

Open Quote Effingham County has much better schools, smaller classrooms, zero tolerance for violence, and more graduate from Effingham County. Unfortunately only 52% graduate high school in Chatham County :( Chatham County allows bullying, racism, verbal abuse from teachers, among others horrible experiences we have dealt with while there. Main reason we got the heck out of there (Searched schools then jobs)!!!! In the two years my child was at this school she learned all the horrible thing that happen to her are suppose to be normal and it's suppose to be okay. Bull Crap!!!! . If your child is not extremely smart but are a notch above average or even below the standards levels they will fall through the cracks quickly. Also no one cares to tell you hey your kid might need help or something. I found out from new school which is awesome, because as a parent I care if my child succeeds. This is how bad it was last year and year before that the subdivision I was living in, half of the kids was home schooled after dealing with a traumatic experience this school gave to them.Try to investigate months before you move any where in this area for sure . Fake ratings suckered us into Godley Station. Close Quote

Open Quote Don't mind from the first review. I think someone wrote the review without having one's child in this school.

Godley Station School is a new K-8 school and my child is attending since the new open. There was a chaos for the first time, but as a parent and volunteer of Godley Station School, I can say "Principal, every teachers, and PTA are very hard working and put their great efforts to support our children. Academic is demanding, too many gifted children, almost 20% of 5th graders are Duke TIP enrollment students. This school is truly getting better year by year."

As far as I know, Godley Station School is the best school in West Chatham area. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
