As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Maple Grove is simply outstanding. The teachers and supporting staff are amazing. My son was hoplessly behind in reading and writing after spending his Pre - 1st grade years at other Jeffco and private schools. His teacher, Mrs. Filce was able to completely change the trajectory of his developement in these subjects inside of the first half of the school year. Maple Grove has another shining star in its Principle, Mr. Stone. A Harvard graduate and it shows. Mr. Stone is heavily involved in all aspects of the school and community. He has been instrumental in the implimentation and rollout of some pretty amazing new teaching techniques statewide and works hard to keep families up to date on relevant issues. He is always available to help and is activily involved in the day to day. If your kids go to Maple Grove you will see Mr. Stone every single day even if you are just dropping them off or picking them up from school. The student to teacher ratio is good and if you ask around the Applewood, Golden and Wheat Ridge area you are certain to hear good things. Close Quote

Open Quote I would NOT recommend this school especially if your child requires extra help. IEPs are NOT followed!! My daughter loved school until she attended Maple Grove Elementary. Her teacher was mean to her and refused to follow her IEP. Instead of helping my daughter, she would stick her in a corner and not let her participate. The teacher ignored my phone calls and emails. The principal is worthless. He refused to intervene!! Thankfully my daughter will not be attending Maple Grove in the fall. Unfortunately she is not excited about starting school this fall. She is afraid she will get another mean teacher.
The student ratio is much higher than the school websites claim. The ratio is closer to 26:1. Even though taxes were raised to increase school funding, it is not being used to reduce the teacher:student ratio like it was supposed to be. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
