As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote My child was here 3 years until we couldn’t take it anymore. My child was falling behind academically and I didn’t my child was safe.
In 2015, after an award ceremony, 3 parents got into a physical altercation. The police was called but no arrests were made. The principal did nothing despite having footage of the fight. We stayed another year in 2016 my child’s teacher had a “dumb table” which was where the teacher sent all the children that she felt weren’t learning. I expressed my concerns to the principal and asked her to keep them anonymous. The principal did not respect my wishes and the teacher began retaliating against my child. Homework came home with unclear instructions and she started giving my child extremely low grades despite my child being ahead of the class previously (according to her)
We stayed another year hoping these were isolated incidents. Our last year we noticed that our child was being treated differently by the principal. He was left out of all awards ceremonies and I was the butt of everyone’s jokes being called out of my name. Aside from the uncomfortable environment and the condescending attitude we were receiving, the things they teach the kids are not up to par compared to other schools. The kinder and first grade teachers are great. The PTA is too demanding. They want all your time and all your money. The school has tons of volunteer hours but they’re all from the same parents. Literally the same group of parents. My child is much happier now, leaving NCES was the best thing ever! Close Quote

Open Quote NCES is the perfect school for my child. It's a diverse, warm, nurturing environment. Academics are rigorous with a lot of individual attention from teachers to help students perform. There are a lot of great enrichment opportunities accessible to all students. I highly recommend it. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
