Open Quote Great local, community school. The administrators ensure teachers are striving for the best for our kids. It's gotten better and better each year. The past four years have been outstanding. Close Quote

Open Quote I am a business owner in Gilbert, AZ that has left 10-12 messages for the principal of this school. I tried to donate almost $4,000 worth of supplies and cannot get the common courtesy of a returned phone call. I will be allocating the supplies to another school in the area. If you are a parent at this school I would highly recommend you call the principal and ask her to return her phone calls. Close Quote

Open Quote In four short years this group of professionals have pulled together to make Chaparral Elementary School a "World Class" Institution. This school should be receiving a "Excelling" rating from the state. From SchoolDigger.com , anything less than five stars is a true injustice. My kid love's it here and is now entering the 7th Grade excited and ready to go. This was not the case in Orange County Ca schools. His grades are up, his attitude is outstanding and the only thing we are doing different is we relocated to this area. He love's his new school and teachers. He responds well and actually has stayed on top of homework assignments with out us having to "nag" him to get it done.

What ever you are doing at Chaparral, don't stop until you make it to the top! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
