Open Quote My son joined New World Montessori School at age 4. He is now in third grade at New World (our fourth year with the school.)

I just love what this school has done for my son as a student and as an emerging person! New World Montessori has made a positive difference in my child's life.

I remember my first impression of the Pre-K and Kindergarten classroom - quiet joy! The children were having a wonderful time doing individual tasks on the floor, at tables, alone and with other children. There was a happy buzz in the room. Children smiled and offered each other help. They seemed very interested in what they were doing. I remember thinking, "This is the quietest and most joyful classroom I have ever been in." I loved watching as they completed the educational tasks, asked their teacher questions, smiled to themselves over the achievement, put the materials away for the next person and went on to the next thing. I was completely sold!

Over these four years, his teachers have served as caring guides for my son's OWN educational exploration. Yes, there is plenty of repetition in core subjects like math, language and writing but there is also a deep foundation in science, biology, history, astronomy, music, art and foreign language. Instead of lecturing and standing in front of him all day, his teachers coach him through his learning and teach him to master tasks on his own. They allow him to celebrate his strengths but also fortify his weaker areas too.

Children at New World are encouraged to use thier knowledge from a lesson and take it to the next step. After learning about pre-historic animals and plants, they write reports and draws pictures and present the concepts back to other classmates or younger children. Now at age 9, I love when he tells me stories of how he was able to HELP TEACH a younger child. They tell me this reflects a mastery of the subject if you are able to teach it. But what I see is emerging leadership skills. New World's mixed age classrooms foster this type of leadership.

In a mere four years, he has become increasingly more independent, thoughtful, helpful, graceful with younger children and enthused about learning. Not to mention the fact that his knowledge base is eclipsing my degreed education. I often find myself quizzed on subjects or details which are unfamiliar to me. I often respond with, "Let's look that up when we get home."

I urge you to come tour the school and sit in a classroom. You will not regret the time you spent exploring New World for your child. It's the greatest gift you can give them! Close Quote

Open Quote Our family has loved being part of New World Montessori School. We are better parents and better people because Montessori education has
challenged our family to look at the world in a different way - with respect and gratitude.

New World is culturally diverse, and therfore, our children have learned about various traditions, religions and beliefs, making them more empathetic, well-rounded people.

New World Montessori has provided an academically exceptional education which I am confident has contributed to our children's creativity and problem-solving abilities. I am so thankful we found New World. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
