Open Quote If I could give 0 stars I would! We have been parishioners and school members for 6 years. Our youngest child is in 8th grade and we will be gone after that. The first two years were great! After that things went down hill swiftly. A new principal arrived and stayed just 3 years, she fired a ton of seasoned teachers with ties to the parish, created a terrible learning environment with teachers leaving mid-year and was generally just unaware of the cultural effect her poor leadership caused. We received a new principal this year, it's his first year in any leadership role, he had to hire about half of the staff new due to the loss from the previous administration. He will say what you want to your face, and then change his tune when he leaves. Absolutely no policies are being followed, not the bullying policy, not the computer use policy, not the uniform policy. We've lost 3 teachers out of the middle school since the year started, some of which were behaving incredibly unprofessionally in class without reprimand. Father Kevin is a silencer, he doesn't address parent concerns unless the police or arch diocese are involved and he's horribly rude. The tuition is also one of the higher tuitions in the arch diocese. This school used to be a feeder for the great Catholic High Schools in the area and now kids aren't even getting in to their school of choice because of academic scores. They've begun letting absolutely any problem child from other schools in, because enrollment is so down which leads to a ton of disruption in classrooms and learning environments. It used to be if a child was expelled from another school they wouldn't , take them for at least a year at St. Al's, not the case anymore. They will say it is, but it is not! Close Quote

Open Quote Excellent school with wonderful staff. Very family friendly school. Very strong parent involvement. You really feel part of a family. I just can't say enough about how proud I am to have my family part of such a great school. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
