Open Quote I send my daughters to this school. They have a fine balance between academics and extra curricular activities. There is an overall improvement in my daughter's academic performance and I strongly recommend this school to anyone. Close Quote

Open Quote My son came to Northlake in Kindergarten for his first time ever going to school. I was very nervous having him in school for the first time and I could not be happier. His teachers are wonderful and very welcoming. They are regularly sending pictures of various class activities and you can tell how they love the children and how much fun they have. I really appreciate the small class sizes. One of my favorite things about the school is the amount of extra curricular activities that are included that are so fun for the children. These include foreign languages, Zumba, karate, gymnastics and more. In addition, the school teaches a grade ahead in curriculum so he's learning 1st grade material and thriving all the individualized attention makes such a difference in their progress. Furthermore, the amount of diversity in cultural experiences and education they receive is outstanding. For example, they celebrated Chinese New Year and continue to learn about and experience various cultures and traditions. My only complaint is the playground area. I do feel that it is a safety hazard. Besides that, the area seems very aimed toward the younger children and leaves little opportunities for the older ones. I'd love to see an overhaul and that area re-imagined. Overall, I am very happy with the experience he's receiving and plan to have him continue going here for years to come. Close Quote

Open Quote Norhlake Academy is a fantastic place to put you kids. I have had my two daughters at this school for three years and I couldn’t be happier about the growth and progress they both have made. When I first enrolled my daughters my older one was a bit shy and overly sensitive. With the love a patience the teachers have given her, she is now almost a completely different child. They have helped her become out going and more flexible. The teachers alone make me want to keep my kiddos here as long as possible. They are kind, intelligent, and really understand children. I feel comfortable with my children being with any of the teachers at this school. The extra curriculars are fantastic! My children participate in Spanish and Japanese language courses, Zumba dance, gymnastics. Karate and music. And all at such a reasonable price. This place really can’t be beat! Close Quote

Open Quote Northlake is an amazing school!! The teachers are wonderful, the class sizes are small. My daughter loves it, 3 teachers in her class! Personal attention, Ms. Christina potty trained my daughter in less than a week, they make you feel part of the school, I remember every time that I approach Ms Christina with concerns about my daughters stunted speach proficiency, she tells me “don’t loose your patient we are racing a bilingual kid” what I loved, because I felt that she was part of it (what it’s truth) they come with solutions instead of complains. Ms Christina and Ms. Kelly give support to my daughter all the time, even on weekend she asks for them. There are fun community events, the holiday programs are amazing. We love it there. They have gymnastics (I don’t have to take her or pay for extracurricular activities) Spanish and Japanese!! I feel like the way my daughter is learning, is the ideal for her age “learning through play”. Also is really enjoyable seen how Ms. Sue (the principal) interacts with the kids, they love her. I’m so happy, I will recommend this school to every parent that is looking for a family oriented school. Close Quote

Open Quote My kids have been going to northlake since they were 18 months (now 8 and 3). We love this school and recommend it to everyone we know. They have wonderful teachers who treat our kids like family. My kids love it here and they are both thriving in this environment. We moved all the way to Black Diamond last year and still do the drive everyday to bring the kids here because of how academically advanced they are compared to public schools and other small private schools in my area. My 8 year old is 2 grades ahead of kids her age in a public school setting, and they offer extra curricular activities during the school day from zumba, gymnastics, spanish and japanese to technology and chess and everything in between. My 3 year old loves going to school and is ahead of kids her age. We love it here.♡♡♡ Close Quote

Open Quote Northlake Academy is a wonderful school. Both of my kids have attended for three years now and they are super happy. They love their teachers. The environment is so friendly and you can easily communicate with teachers and the principle. Ms. Sue is very kind and encouraging to students. Students learn high-level math, science and visual art with engaged, dedicated teachers in small class sizes. I don’t think I could have made a better choice of school for my children. Northlake offers so much that is hard to summarize here, Gymnastics, Karate, Zumba,Tech, Visual art,Soccer, Spanish and Japanese classes are the extra classes there that I don’t have to pay extra money for them!
I highly recommand Northlake Academy. Close Quote

Open Quote This school is a little hidden gem in Kirkland. Not only is it hidden amongst an oasis of beautiful landscaping with a running water feature in front but it is also so much more than just a school. My youngest child has attended for over two years now and I am constantly in awe of what Northlake has to offer. Not only does the school offer first rate teachers and great test scores but there are small class sizes with 10-13 children in a class with one teacher and an assistant. In addition to the amazing education my daughter is getting, she also receives extra curricular activities as part of her monthly tuition, no extra cost to me. Japanese, Spanish, Karate, Gymnastics, Zumba, Soccer and Music to name a few. I could go on and on about this school but I will leave this review with a sincere thankfulness for the extended family feel and "home away from home" sense that I get when I see my daughter light up as I drop her off each day at school in time for breakfast and see the smile still there when I pick her up after work. Not only is this a school but it also is extended Care so my daughter doesn't have to go to multiple places each day and I know that she is safe and well taken care of. Close Quote

Open Quote We absolutely love Northlake! We have had our kids here since they were toddlers...our daughter recently graduated fifth grade. If you are looking for a loving home away from home, full of the joys or childhood...not to mention awesome test scores...Northlake is your best option on the east side. Teachers are genuinely caring ...GENUINELY...and the school director is very accommodating of our fluctuating schedules and financial needs. Number three is on the way and we will enroll him as soon as he is old enough to join this wonderful community. Close Quote

Open Quote We have had our daughter enrolled at Northlake exclusively for the past 5 years (since she was 18 months old) and could not be more pleased. She is currently in the Kindergarten program and is thriving, loves school, and feels a part of a wonderful community.

I have been continuously impressed with the quality of the teachers at the school, the genuine care and love they have for kids, and the well rounded curriculum, in every age group. They offer extra curricular activities that are included in the tuition (zumba, gymnastics, soccer, foreign language, music, etc) that you won't find anywhere else. The entire staff is always warm and friendly and are able to connect with every child in whatever way the individual child needed in that given moment.

I would highly recommend Northlake Academy to anyone looking for a school with a nurturing environment, great teachers and wonderful education. Close Quote

Open Quote Unreliable administration that only has a director but no one else, not even a book keeper. Classroom teacher often answers the phone which I've never seen in any schools I sent my older children! Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
