Open Quote We are so lucky to have found KapKa Cooperative. It is a K-5 located in North Seattle - near the zoo and Woodland Park. The school uses the park and the zoo extensively - lots of fresh air, movement and sunshine (as much as can be found in Seattle!) for the kids. The teacher student ratios are 1:14 - my children are known by their teachers and this had fueled their confidence. The teachers have a lot of autonomy - they have the power to adjust curriculum to meet their classroom's needs. Happy teachers, happy kids, happy parents! Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
