As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Bonney Lake High School has received the 2013 High Performing School Award from the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction for Washington State. Bonney Lake High School is the largest high school to earn this award. This award represents school-wide achievement over a three year period along with excellent results for closing the achievement gap. Again, Bonney Lake High School was the largest comprehensive high school (1350 students) in the entire state to earn this distinction. During the same time frame our principal was recognized by the states administrators association (AWSP) for top principal award.

Along with this Bonney Lake High School has been part of the Southern Regional Boards program known as High Schools That Work - The main emphasis of HSTW is to prepare all students for college and career readiness. There is a large push for AP course and a large push for CTE course. Our AP program continues to grow and our CTE program is not only state recognized, but they have gained national recognition in such areas as FBLA (future business leaders of america) and the Culinary Arts (2013-14 State Champion and 5th in the entire Nation).

Within the HSTW network, home based in Atlanta, Georgia, Bonney Lake High School has earned the distinction of being an Innovative High School along with other award.

For a school that has only been open since 2005, we have earned our share of academic awards and I've only listed some of them. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
