As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote I had the honor to come visit the School for a planned Veteran's Day Assembly, at 09:30 AM, Tuesday, 10 November 2015. I was visiting as a "Retired Veteran". I was very impressed as the children filed out to go to the Gym & be seated. The Stage had already been set up. The students performed by making a number of small speeches, the Cub Scouts did the Flag Ceremony, and Patriotic songs were sung. All in all exceptionally impressive to this old man. My heart was bursting with pride! Wow!

I was told approximately 725 kids attend this School. and I'm sure most of them were at the Assembly! I cannot express how impressed I was to be able to attend this assembly! I was invited by a girl student (friends of the family), and my first opinion was to say I was busy, but then reconsidered, changed an appointment and went. Needless to say; That was a very good decision! Thank you Kokanee School for an outstanding look at your School today! Many people thanked me for my service, but trust me; I thank YOU all for the atmosphere these children are learning in. Thank you very much! Close Quote

Open Quote I have read far and wide on this school and the obvious upward trend in virtually all categories is a testament to hard work and dedication. In this day and age, everything gets cut back by government, do more with less. Sadly, the students are the true victims. For any school system to not only maintain programs, but also to enhance these programs, and build a desire in the students to embrace their education as a path to their success is an achievement anyone can be, and should be proud of. Teaching a child is everyone's responsibility, not just the teacher, not just the parent -- everyone. There is so little time to get it right. There are always going to be some naysayers in background, but to them, I would pose this question: are you part of the problem, or part of the solution? You can't be neither, and you can't be both. Thank you educators for who you are, and what you do. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
