Open Quote I am writing in response to the review "Beware Military Families" It is not true that West Ghent School will hold Military Family's to their contract. The rules are stated clearly in our Handbook regarding the Military. We have many Military children enrolled and have never not honored a transfer when the time came.

Open Quote BEWARE FOR MILITARY FAMILIES!

The teachers are terrific and the curriculum is fantastic, but the administrators WILL NOT honor a "military clause" for families that have to transfer mid-year. Even if you have PCS orders the school will use legal means to ensure that the full year's tuition is paid. This is an unfortunate philosophy... particularly in a military town such as Norfolk. About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
