Open Quote Can’t say enough about the quality of Our Savior Lutheran School. We’re a military family, so we’ve moved and changed schools often. My daughter is 8th grade and has declared that OUr Savior is her favorite school of the 6 she has attended! I have yet to see another school with as dedicated group of teachers and administration. The character formation and Christian values of inclusion, equality, and kindness permeate throughout all academic, social, and enrichment activities. Small class sizes mean specialized attention for my children and his and her needs. The nurturning environment allows my children to thrive, and yet the school sets high expectations for the students. The school has been around since 1952, draws students from MD, DC, and VA, very diverse student and family population, has strong academics, and a small, caring, family feel. The PTA does wonderful “old school” fun activities like a fall carnival, Father Daughter Dance, Bingo night and Art Auction, and Family board game night. Before and After care options, to include drop in care. Most affordable private school in the area. It truly is the hidden gem in Arlington. Close Quote

Open Quote Our Savior seems to be a hidden gem in Arlington. I am constantly amazed at how much we love this school. The teachers and principal put in so much extra effort and attention to run the school. I love the cozy and supportive environment as well as the faith-based values that are taught. I appreciate that the class sizes are smaller than the local (overcrowded) public schools, and I like that my child is with the same group of students from year to year. The students have formed strong bonds, and they remain supportive of each other. Despite the smaller size, the student body is quite diverse. The majority of the teachers have been teaching at this school for many years, and they are clearly passionate about their vocation and about the students. Since the class sizes are smaller, the teachers have more time to dedicate to each child and are able to adapt to the needs and interests of the class and individual students as possible. My child has thrived at Our Savior. Close Quote

Open Quote Great Christian school, staff is devoted, small diverse student body. Strong academics, small classes. Saxon math. Close to the Pentagon, NFATC, ANGRTC. A gem of a place in a hectic and stressful area. Close Quote

Open Quote Our Savior provides a caring environment, with outstanding teachers. The curriculum is taught so the kids get the basics, and is equal if not above par with the surrounding public schools. The smaller classes allows the teachers to work with each child as necessary. Highly recommended! Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
