Open Quote We found ICS after looking for an alternative to public schools virtual learning. What we found was a much better education than what the FCPS curriculum had become. For the first time ever our kids come home intrigued by what they are learning, participating in debates, learning to critically think. We had hesitated enrolling our third child, but after seeing first hand the excellent education offered, she is now attending. They are thriving in the Christian, caring environment participating in extracurricular activities, and receiving a well rounded, purposeful education. We couldn't be more pleased! Close Quote

Open Quote My daughter is halfway through her first year and I have been incredibly impressed with our experience at ICS. The communication with parents is excellent - weekly updates and photos from the teachers and regular communication from administrators. They have done an excellent job handling safety protocols during the pandemic and it has been a blessing that our daughter has been able to be full-time in person at school. Children in elementary school need personal interaction. The teachers are kind and caring and the academic curriculum is very well balanced. What we love most is the Christ-centered approach to education and the emphasis the school puts on kindness. I would highly recommend ICS. Close Quote

Open Quote We love sending our son to Kindergarten at ICS! We just moved to the area and could not imagine a more welcoming environment for our whole family. We have constant and thorough communication from his teachers, who are adaptable to meet the needs of every child. We feel comfort knowing that not only is our son getting a great education, but one focused on Biblical teaching. Close Quote

Open Quote This school is authentic in teaching and instructing in God’s word. I couldn’t be more pleased with the Bible education. Each teacher really cares about each child. As a parent, there are a great number of ways to get involved at the school. You can really participate in the education that your child is getting. It is clear that this school strives to prepare children for the world by teaching the foundations they need as people, not just what they need to know to succeed in academics. Close Quote

Open Quote Love this school. The staff and teachers are so nice and welcoming. They have so many activities and always have fun things going on at school. Very united and I feel like they get to know each child which is very special and important. My child loves it here and I has made some amazing friends so far. I have made some friends as well. I will have my son stay here all the way until he graduates from high school! Close Quote

Open Quote I was transferring my girls from a school that had divided their students between A/B students and C/below. This school was consistently putting my girls in lower reading classes than they tested for. The school did not teach science in 4th grade because it was not a part of the SOL test that year and in 5th grade they were only given old SOL tests as work. I discovered the teachers were teaching for a test and not teaching for the children to actually learn the subject. I had already met with the principle several times and contacted the Fairfax school board of which no one wanted to do anything about. I was extremely upset and was not able to speak to anyone about this without breaking out into tears.

One day I did a search online for other schools and Immanuel Christian School popped up. As a matter of fact it was to be their open house on that Friday, so I went in and long story short my husband and I decided to put 2 of our daughters there.

It was hard for my older daughter because she had been at her old school for 5 years and most of my concerns were with her.

I feel such a sense of relief since we’ve been at Immanuel and pride in their school. The academics are challenging the comradeship is heartwarming. My older daughter who had a hard time warming up to the school not only likes it now but does not want return to public school even though her workload has increased significantly.

As being an involved mom not only in the public school but now at Immanuel, I can see what a finely oiled machine Immanuel is in it’s running of business. I’ve helped out at many of the events that both schools have, such as Medieval Day and Colonial Day. I’ve noticed that because thorough notes are kept as well as items purchased in years prior, that events are run much smoother and at a lower expense because the new parents are not continuously buying new items every year.

After being at Immanuel for my 9th month now, the single best thing about Immanuel is that God is woven through the lessons of the day. My younger daughter’s prayers have matured in thought and scope. As for my older daughter that I was so worried about, wondering if I made the right decision, was made clear to me. My mom came to visit and told me she noticed an inner peace in her granddaughter now.

Thank you God.

Open Quote Just moved to ICS earlier this year and was very hesitant how my kids would adjust. They've been to only one school prior to ICS and I didn't know how they'd do with the change. But I found that they are not only surviving, they are in fact THRIVING!

The teachers are great - full of love and genuine care for students. The administration runs like a well-oiled machine - very professional. Security is top-notch, the facilities are beautiful...I honestly can't think of one bad thing to say about this school. Close Quote

Open Quote Excellent school and a hidden gem in Fairfax County! In a time when so many schools are focused on standardized testing, ICS is focused on academic excellence. As a Christian school, it also partners with its families to instill strong ethical values in the lives of the students. It welcomes visitors to tour the school and sit in on classes. The staff is cheerful, professional, intelligent, and dedicated to service. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
