Open Quote I have both a 3-year-old and 6month old who attend Breckinridge. Breckinridge was recommended to me after I began to have issues with my son's previous school after a change in management. My son started at 18months old, and has been exceptionally cared for! My experience/interactions with the administration have been positive and they are very responsive to emails and calls.
When my son 1st began the transition was a tough one but the ladies in both the baby and toddler room were always patient and loving in spite of his melt downs. In the mornings, he would get dropped off in the baby room and the ladies there were always good at distracting him with tasks or games in the morning to help make drop off a bit easier. As time when on the meltdowns stopped and he happily walked into class in the mornings and "helped" with the babies until it was time to go to his class. His pre toddler teachers are/were amazing! I would stop by or stay a bit after drop off to check on him and in spite of all of the little people needing attention they made sure that everyone was taken care of and given the attention they needed. My son moved to the toddler class when he turned two years old. The administration, his former teacher, and his new teacher made sure his transition was a good one. I never felt like they were rushing him to his new class before he was ready to go full time. Sometimes this meant his old teacher stopping by to give him a hug or walking him to his new class until he was comfortable going on his own. I appreciated that they took the time to make sure was ready to move on.
When I found out I was pregnant I visited the baby room and chatted with the teachers there and felt more than comfortable that it would be a good fit for my new addition and I was right. After spending a great year with two awesome teachers in the toddler room, my son began his transition to the primary room. During his transition, my daughter began her time in the baby room. Dropping her off each day is like dropping her off to two additional grandmothers. I know by her reaction to them that she loves being there as much as they love seeing her each day. The ladies there are credited for FINALLY getting her to use a bottle. Bless them because they tried many bottles before we found one that she liked! I'm always notified if there is a change in her eating (like when she began to eat more cereal or needed more milk), or if her sleeping habits seem a bit off from her usual norm. They have always followed my wishes in regards to feeding (my daughter eats on demand), and we have already discussed when/how to introduce solid food.
My experience at Breckinridge has been a positive one, and I look forward my children continuing their education at this school. I confidently leave them each day knowing that they are loved, nurtured, and cared for each day. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
