As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote This is our neighborhood school and my daughter really likes going here. She’s made lots of friends and learned so much!

The school is very diverse, which we appreciate and enjoy. The teachers individualize instruction in reading and math to meet kids where they are. There’s also many opportunities to volunteer and events to attend where you can meet other parents and teachers.

We were also here during Covid and the virtual learning experience was way better than I expected. Close Quote

Open Quote The principal and her staff have done an excellent job caring and making the school safe for students during this difficult year. Every effort is made to ensure the students are learning, not only knowledge, but social and emotional lessons as well. Could not recommend this school more Close Quote

Open Quote We have been so happy at this school! The principal is absolutely fantastic, and the teachers and staff have all gone out of their way to make this challenging school year extra special. You can tell that they are dedicated to making well-rounded students both inside and outside the classroom. They have also gone out of their way to continue to build a sense of community both for in-person and virtual learners this year. I cannot say enough great things about this school! Close Quote

Open Quote I can't say enough about this school. My son went to Brinker at first and although Brinker has better test scores, Mitchell is better in so many ways. The Mitchell principal is freaking awesome. He is present every morning and afternoon greeting and giving high fives to students. He returns calls. He cares. Teachers are not too strict and are genuinely nice. The school lets you know, via email and other online communication tools, what kids learned and what they expect to teach weekly. The school is very diverse as well which I like because that represents the country we live in. Oh my goodness, I forgot to mention...When we first registered at Mitchell as a new family, I asked to meet with the principal (yes I do that because I am an involved parent). He met with me along with my son's new teacher for 30 mins. I asked questions and they explained school philosophy, security, programs, expectation of kids, etc. The school even has a parent teacher liason that called me to welcome our family to the school and explained the liason role and how she bridges the gap to help resolve and mitigate issues before it escalates to the principal. About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
