As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote They care more about their teachers than the students. They always send annoying emails asking for gifts and donations that are not all related to school necessities. I mean isn't a salary and being paid to be off during the summer enough?

I have had several issues with the teachers not putting effort or having patience with our son. He is a smart kid, and he doesn't require much help, but yelling at a student because they ask for help is not appropriate.

They have the most basic curriculum I've ever seen. They only teach Texas History here, and due to that my son doesn't even know much about other states or countries except for the things he's seen on television or what we've taught him. Same goes for Astronomy, they've only learned about the phases of the moon, so I've had to teach him about the solar system and the other planets out there. I'm surprised they aren't even teaching the kids to be multilingual, especially since we live in a diverse area with more Hispanics than anyone else.

I am so glad we are homeschooling our son while my wife does travel nursing. The homeschool program is so much more advanced than public school. He is excited to have a more broad variety of studies. He's even taking on Mandarin language studies and learning about the culture and history of other countries. God forbid they teach them anything unrelated to Texas here, since everyone thinks that this is the greatest state in the nation, lol whatever!

At least he will get to travel and learn first hand about all of the states in our country instead of being taught that Texas is the only state that has any history. I've even bought a telescope to show him that the moon isn't the only object in space lol. I think I could seriously teach these kids better, and I only have an associates degree in emergency medicine.

They also blow our phones up if he's like 15 mins late, yet the line is always super long and congested, therefore it's almost unavoidable, and by the graces of God do not pull into a handicapped spot to drop your child off, they will have a hissy fit. They will threaten you with the law although it's not illegal to pull into a handicapped spot and pull right back out, it's only illegal if you park your car and get out, I called the TXDPS and they verified that for me. Also make sure your child has a nice breakfast before he leaves, because they only get 15 minutes to eat breakfast at school. The teachers expect you to be there before 8:00, otherwise your child won't be allowed breakfast.

The teachers really hold the parents to a higher standard here, like we are supposed to be helping teach our kids or something. What do they get paid for if we gotta do half the work?! Some of us have to work and support our families. They also act like my wife is supposed to be helping teach our son 24/7, so they blow her inbox up with pointless emails all the time. I guess they think she's the typical "yoga pants wearing stay at home mom". I mean that is the type of women I usually see dropping their kids off lol. Sorry, but my wife just can't sit at home like these women, she loves her career, and doesn't have time to play stay at home mommie, she's too educated for that lol.

So my suggestion is if you aren't a stay at home mom, you have a life, you work for a living, and you cannot devote at least 50 of your time to your child's education, then steer clear of this school! Oh and I forgot to mention that if you aren't the typical dad, and you drive a sports car instead of a sissy mini van, they'll give you dirty looks and judge you because that's not the "proper" vehicle for a parent lol. Also make sure you have a huge inbox for all the emails you'll get from the school during the week lol. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
