Open Quote I have heard some nasty things about the academics at this school. I am a student here, and honestly some students go there because they heard it was easier when it came to schoolwork, but I assure you, it is NOT easier than a regular public school in any way, shape, or form. At my old school, I was taking all advanced placement classes, and doing well. I moved to this school, expecting maybe a break from the hard work I had to do to keep good grades in all of my advanced placement classes, and it is not a break. I have learned more than I ever learned at public school here, because the way they teach is so much better than anything I have ever encountered. You have to know the material before you move on. You can NEVER get below an A, or they make you retake EVERYTHING in the unit. It is hard. But it's worth it.
And as for the media part of the school, I'm a musician, and I've also been doing videography recently. When I switched to this school, I was hoping to learn a lot more about media and everything media related. And I am. We've covered so many different things already including Adobe Photoshop, Sound Booth, After Affects, and Protools. It is an amazing program and I would vouch for it any day, as would my parents. Open Quote This school helped my daughter out so much. She was having trouble in her previous public high school because of the mean girls. This school gave her a fresh start and helped her regain all of her credits lost due to her absences, even though she had all A's in the classes she did not get credit for. The smaller classes helped her get her grades up even more and the teachers really do a lot to help a child when it is needed. They treat them all as talented individuals, and not as a ID number where she is one of 4000 kids.
I would have not known what to do if we hadn't found this school. Close Quote

Open Quote This school is a joke. The classes are AP in name only - do not be fooled. The school will also not release SAT and AP test scores. Why?? Hmmm? If you are considering this school and go to a meeting about it, do not be fooled by the number of parents administration tells you signed up for next year (implying satisfaction with the school). Many did so yet have no intention of returning but do not have a Plan B yet. The school is lax in its academics, and certainly NOT for anyone who is talented in math, science, engineering, or technology. I do NOT recommend this school for anyone who is college-bound. About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
