Open Quote My daughter has attended Aristoi for two school years, the experience has been great. If your child can be academically challenged and is a higher achiever they will do very well in this classical setting. I would best describe Aristoi as an entire school at a Pre-AP level. Teachers are caring and the staff is amazing. The communication between school, teacher, student and parent is very good. This school currently operates in two separate facilities, A lower campus and upper campus, K-4th is lower campus 5th & 6 together, 7th & 8th together & 9th-12th. Aristoi is very challenging, there is a lot of work and as a parent you will need to be involved. Aristoi also does not teach to the state Starr test but rather focusing on history events, math and science. They do require a uniform and it changes as they progress through the grade level. Aristoi is a free charter school in the Katy area, however it is a private school experience. Unless your child is in daycare you will be responsible for getting them to and from school as there are no buses. Overall we absolutely love Aristoi!!!!!! Close Quote

Open Quote I was a student of West Houston Charter School in the late 90's. While I do have some amazing memories from my time there, absolutely none of it had anything to do with the school itself. I was a straight A student before attending, and actually left the school only JUST passing for the year. My fond memories had a lot to do with skipping classes and not getting caught and the cigarettes and drinking my friends and I would indulge in during off periods in front of teachers with no consequence. As a student, West Houston Charter was a lot of fun. As now a parent of two, I would absolutely never send my children to that school and I honestly do blame a lot of the struggles that I had academically later in life to West Houston Charter. About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
