As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Both of my children attended Bear Creek Community Charter School, one of which still attends and one who graduated. The charter school staff and administration go out of their way to create a safe and supportive atmosphere. They offer unique programs for not only students, but for families and the community. I couldn't imaging my children attending traditional public school. Our oldest graduated, and is doing very well academically, which I attribute to the strong foundation received at Bear Creek. Open Quote They were a very good school. One of the best in the area until they moved to the bigger newer school. Now they treat teachers and students like they're running a business. They don't care about the opinions of teacher, parents or their child. They were a small community school that cared about the kids now it seems like they want to get them in and push them out. I'm saddened and disturbed by this immensely. Good bye to our once wonderful charter school. Close Quote

Open Quote Best school I have ever gone to. I'm sad that I can't go next year for I'll be in 9th grade. I was at this school before it became a charter school for kindergarten and 1st grade. Then the school board closed it even though its student were doing much better than the other schools. Then I worked with my dad, brother, and other families to work on the school to make it operational. Then I went back in 4th grade and kepted on coming till 8th grade. Those teachers are the best I've ever had. They could go to other schools for a much better pay, but they stay there because they care. Mr. Usher, Mr. Snieder, Mrs. Longo, Mrs. Figura, Mrs. Wood, Mrs. Rogers, Mrs. Piccoti, Mr. Wascavage, Mr. Meck, Mrs. Duffy, Mrs. Tolbert, and all the others, including Mr. Zeller, were all awsome teachers. I hope Coughlin will be ok.

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
