Open Quote Warm, welcoming, caring and communicative... teaching students to be good citizens as well as educating their hearts, arts and minds. We explored most of the options in Milwaukie before settling on SJB. We are so happy, and our son is too. Having agonized over Kindergarten essentially since he was born, we would suggest to any parent in our area to strongly consider this school. Close Quote

Open Quote As a parent of three children, we wanted to find a safe, caring and educationally enriching school. We definitely found that in St. John the Baptist Catholic School. The teachers and staff are what drew us initially to this wonderful school because of their passion to educate and form a well-rounded student. They go well beyond our high expectations and have pushed our three kids to learn in a way that best fits their individual learning styles. But the community of St. John the Baptist is what has kept us coming back year after year. Not only are the teachers and staff amazing, but the families and students that make up the community of SJB are unparalleled. They are warm, inviting and extremely FUN. We could not have made a better school choice and would highly recommend St. John the Baptist Catholic School. Close Quote

Open Quote We couldn't be happier with SJB. My daughter is more challenged than she has been in the past and is much happier, despite having to move away from her old friends. The class sizes are much smaller than where we were. The school allows everyone to request accelerated work, regardless of whether you are earmarked as "TAG" or not. There is a strong sense of community, with ties to the LaSalle high school and all the Catholic high schools. I also love that the emphasis isn't limited to academics. The district has kept a strong Catholic values and a good offering of electives, sports and clubs to develop well-rounded students. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
