Open Quote I attended this school for 8 years and I can say with confidence that I received a very rich education. For a small town, Gervais has a lot of culture to offer and a real sense of family. The parents and teachers, in fact the whole community, are very involved in the school. There's a lot of farming families, so there is a real history to it. The classes are smaller, allowing for more one-on-one time with the teacher. That was important for me, cause I was a kid with a lot of energy and creativity. Thankfully the teachers there had a lot of love and patience, allowing me to grow in knowledge, as well as faith. We students attended mass every Friday, and that tradition is still going. Students participate in the mass by alter service, reading from the lectionary, choir and announcements. The music is lighter, and the homily often holds a more child-friendly message. The arts are encouraged here, from singing to playing instruments to writing. Sports are a range from track, basketball, soccer and a very good volleyball team that my nieces are on! Go Wolverines! Anyway, its a wonderful school. I'll never forget my experience growing up at Sacred Heart. I still keep in touch with the kids (now adults) from my old class. I highly recommend this school, not just because it was the school that shaped me as a person, but because they did it RIGHT! Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
