Indiahoma

The Indiahoma school district in Oklahoma consists of two schools: Indiahoma Elementary School and Indiahoma High School. While Indiahoma schools have seen some academic success in the past, recent data shows a concerning decline in performance, particularly at the high school level.

Indiahoma Elementary School was once a top-performing school in the state, ranking 103 out of 957 Oklahoma elementary schools in 2014-2015. However, its statewide ranking has since dropped significantly, falling to 615 out of 846 in 2010-2011 and 466 out of 845 in 2009-2010. The school serves a diverse student population, with a high percentage of Native American students (45.9%) and a relatively high free/reduced lunch rate (86.89%).

The more concerning trend is seen at Indiahoma High School, which has experienced a dramatic decline in its statewide ranking, dropping from a top-5 position in 2014-2015 to 199 out of 350 in 2021-2022 and 321 out of 439 in 2022-2023. This decline is accompanied by poor academic performance, with only 14.3% of 11th-grade students proficient or better in English Language Arts, 7.1% in Mathematics, and 14.3% in Science. The high school also serves a high percentage of Native American students (46.38%) and has a relatively high free/reduced lunch rate (72.46%).
