Open Quote My child gets a top-notch education in a diverse environment. Unlike in some of the other academically rigorous private schools, there is a true mix of working poor, middle class and professional class families. While the work is challenging, the school chooses a nurturing hand: free tutoring is available for students who need extra help, students get at least one choice time during the day, etc.

Of great help to parents is the extended school day: you can drop off early and pick up late, eliminating the need for additional day care. Tuition is on a sliding scale, but even the base tuition is almost half what a typical private school charges in Manhattan. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
