As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote My daughter is so happy to be an ESMS student. She constantly mentions how polite and mature the other students are. (“even the boys” she says) She has always been a hard worker in school and very well-behaved so I’m happy that she is fortunate to be with other kids like herself. She went into ESMS not knowing many students and has already forged many wonderful friendships.
The academics are tough but any diligent student can handle it. She feels inspired by her teachers and hasn’t complained about the work load at all. The coursework is challenging but manageable.
My husband and I are impressed with the quality of teachers and the passion they clearly have for their profession. We are so proud to be a part of the ESMS family. Close Quote

Open Quote I simply love the school! Some of my teachers are a little "cocky", but they are still good. Every student or teacher I've met are completely respectful and respectable. The principal, Mr. Getz, built that school from ashes. It went through bad phases, but now it's the 22nd best school out of 100! He is a truly amazing man. I believe I speak for the entire student body when I say this:
Go tigers, roar!!! Close Quote

Open Quote I am withdrawing my daughter from the school this year. The quality of teaching in English and Science is poor and I have no confidence that it will prepare her for High School or life. Don't believe the PR and myth perpetuated by the Principal and the school. The school claims that the long tenure of staff and teachers is a positive thing, but in reality it has resulted in a lazy, dismissive faculty who have no desire to change or improve the quality of education. Open Quote Very thoughtful and hard-working administration, deeply committed to education and community. This is the way a public middle school, or any school, for that matter, should be run. The school is crowded, and lacks an auditorium, but you can't have everything. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
