Rundle Richard Elementary School

Summary:

Rundle Richard Elementary School is a public elementary school in Las Vegas, Nevada, serving 672 students in grades PK-5. The school is part of the Clark County School District, which is the 7th ranked district out of 13 in the state and has a 3-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Rundle Richard Elementary School consistently ranks in the bottom quarter of Nevada elementary schools, with significantly below-average performance on SBAC assessments in both mathematics and reading across all grade levels. The school's proficiency rates have been declining over the past few years, dropping from 10.9% to 23.6% in mathematics and 18.3% to 30.2% in reading. The school's performance is particularly low for certain student subgroups, such as African American, Hispanic, English Language Learner, and Special Education students, who rank in the bottom quarter or third of Nevada elementary schools in these categories.

While Rundle Richard Elementary School has a relatively high per-student spending level and a favorable student-teacher ratio, its academic performance remains significantly below the district and state averages. Nearby schools in the same district, such as Earl Ira J Elementary, Stanford Elementary, and Adams Kirk Elementary, also have relatively low academic performance, suggesting that factors beyond just the district and economic status may be contributing to the school's underperformance. Identifying and addressing the specific challenges faced by Rundle Richard Elementary School could be crucial in driving better outcomes for its students.

As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote I have lived in Las Vegas for twelve years and the best experience I have had is here at Richard Rundle E.S. The teachers are very caring and enjoy watching student success. Dr. Reece and Mrs. Sly are very caring and nuturing administrators that promote school, student and staff success. They haved created a positive environment amongst staff and students to promote learning. They work diligently with the community to ensure the students are fed and clothed. Thank you to the many organizations that participate at Rundle to assist students and families that might be temporarily struggling. If it wasn't for the dedication of Dr. Reece and Mrs. Stacey, as well as the staff, Richard Rundle E.S. would not have the promising success stories we live every school day. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
