As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote As a family who has had experience with private and public schooling for many, many years this school has proven to be one of the most well rounded in terms of expectation, respect, and commitment without being bogged down by ideology. My child is receiving more from his studies than his past schools. The commitment of the teachers is well balanced by the expectation of the students. The teachers give 100+ percent of helping the children understand their work and actively engage the students to enjoy what they are learning. I am beyond pleased at this point in time with Founders. I truly appreciate the emphasis on classical education. The practice of kindness, mutual respect and love of learning could we ask for anything more? Close Quote

Open Quote My son attended The Founders Academy for 6th through 8th grade, 9/2017 - 6/2020. It was a great experience for our family. He did well in school, made friends and excelled in music largely due to the music program and spectacular fine arts and music teachers. Yes, there are kids who are screw-ups (it's Manchester after all), but they get weeded out as each student must achieve a solid "B" grade in any and all classes, or the class must be repeated the following year. There are a lot of nice kids with very nice families that attend TFA. The students are taught critical thinking using the Socratic method. They are not spoon fed one political view point rather, they are taught to examine evidence and think for themselves. An effort is made to instill leadership skills in the students. The student body is diverse, and the kids are mostly quite nice. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
