Open Quote Kindergarten does not offer a full day program like the public school and some other private schools do. In orientation, they say that the children play after lunch. Close Quote

Open Quote St. David's is an Independent School in the Episcopal tradition. As a former teacher, I found that the community of families who sent their children to St. David's valued the following things: education, faith, and character development, which meant that the school really did meet its motto of "faith, virtue, and knowledge." My students were above average writers and thinkers, and many of them received scholarships to top-notch universities their senior year. Class sizes are small, parents are actively involved, teachers strive to personally know their students and develop unparalleled teacher-student relationships. I still am in contact with students who have since gotten married; I have attended my students' weddings. I found the environment to be challenging, nurturing, and intellectual and am grateful to have worked here (I decided to be a stay-at-home mom after my son was born). Highly recommend this school to families who want their child to be engaged intellectually, loved unconditionally, and given opportunities to excel in their areas of gifts and talents. If able, my husband and I will be sending our children to St. David's. Close Quote

Open Quote We moved from out of state so our children could attend St. David's School. After having our values undermined daily for years in the private school we were a part of, we wanted our kids to get a Christian education -- but we were unwilling to sacrifice quality of education to get it. So we looked in several states for two years to find that balance. We found what we were looking for in St. David's: an absolute top-tier education with a true commitment to Christian values. It's our fifth year here, and despite the challenges of such a significant move for our family, we've never once doubted that we made the right decision, and our kids have never been happier! Open Quote My experience as a St. David's parent has been very disappointing. The school administration cares much more about fundraising than supporting its students. The Headmaster seems to only spend time with Board Members or large donors. This is very disappointing for a school that charges more than $15,000 per year in tuition. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
