Open Quote Our family found Child of Christ/Our Savior Lutheran School when our oldest child was ready for preschool. He has had a wonderful experience in this faith-based, academically rigorous setting. The teachers are highly educated and offer excellent instruction, not teaching to the tests but teaching the children. Our oldest has exceeded his grade level on every Iowa test he's taken. He's participated in soccer, basketball, choir, chess, operetta, and our youngest is in Lego league (and has yet to take an Iowa). The PTL actively supports the faculty and offers families programming all year. This year, Cranbrook was at the school, which was a blast. The church staff and families also offer leadership. In addition to religious instruction from teachers, the Pastor is in the classroom weekly talking and praying with children. This school has supported our family, not just our children, with meals, prayer, and visits during difficult times of death and loss. Our Savior Lutheran School is a blessing to our family. Open Quote Our family loves Our Savior Lutheran School! There are so many wonderful programs available to students...organized athletics, music lessons, Lego league and other extra activities. The school has a devoted Parent Teacher League and is committed to providing a strong academic foundation. Religious instruction is a priority and the students graduate from the school with a strong faith foundation and the ability to excel in high school. Close Quote

Open Quote We found Child of Christ for our children. We felt we found a diamond. The Christian atmosphere has been wonderful- small class sizes, safe environment. The academics have been very solid. When my children left after 8th grade, they went to
the public high school and excelled in every way. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
