Open Quote Unfortunately, St A's Andover, MA has gone the route of Common Core this school year 2013-2014 (Common Core Catholic Identity Initiative - which is CC infused with Catholicism) . As a St Augustine Andover, MA parent, I am beyond disappointed and feel utterly betrayed. St Augustine's decided without parental consent or knowledge to move forward with this unproven, untested, controversial curriculum despite having a choice to adopt it or not. So many parents are unaware of this 'change' in direction of the school that I feel obligated to let as many people know as possible before they pay a premium for what is essentially a public school education with a hefty bill. Would I recommend St Augustine's to new parents? No, not unless you want to pay a premium for essentially the same curriculum as your local public school system. Unless they reject Common Core outright, or reject and halt implementation until results come in from the public schools then I would suggest saving your money and paying for a tutor or a math school that can undo what Common Core is doing. About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
