Open Quote Concordia will soon celebrate its 50th year as a Lutheran School continuing to grow as a State reviewed (annually) approved school, an association school, and providing Christian education in the finest Lutheran tradition in the principles established by Martin Luther. With the early oil boom on the West Bank in Marrero, it thrived as the oil boom thrived with an association of 5 to 8 West Bank Lutheran Churches. With the oil 'bust' the association shrunk to a single sponsoring church (Good Shepherd) joined by Trinity in the early 1990's to enable the calling of Lutheran graduates to available spots on the faculty. This state approved school is on track to achieve accreditation in addition to its state approval, an immediate goal for its staff of state certified teachers in grades Pre-K through Eight. Annual academic progress is measured through nationally certified testing, scoring, and ranking each year. A majority of its students repeatedly enroll each year to help create the family environment supported by its caring teachers. So if you want a spot, apply early each spring for the limited spots available. I volunteer at the school, with no children in attendance, because of its goals, its record, and the positive influence it seeks to maintain in the atmosphere of positive reinforcement of learning. There are those who seek to distract people from the positive environment, but that can happen to any school when changes to improve take precedence over stagnation. Like any family, there are bumps in the road of life, but life at Concordia is special and rewarding through the efforts of its staff, its teachers, its students, and its families of friends that continue to support this long established Christian school on the West Bank that was established for serving its community with quality Christian education. About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
