Open Quote My daughter has grown in every aspect of her life in ways I never could have imagined since attending this school. The work is challenging, but the rewards are beyond measure. I love being able to communicate so well with her teacher's, who have all become friends. It's so nice to always feel welcomed into any of the classrooms at any time. My daughter will be starting fifth grade next year and we are so looking forward to the tour experiences from here through high school. The friendships and memories she is creating will no doubt last a lifetime! Close Quote

Open Quote We have two children who have attended Cair Paravel since we moved to Topeka two years ago. Our children were going into 6th and 8th grades and we were concerned about the transition to a new school. It almost makes me cry to think about how God answered our prayers! Both children were made to feel so welcomed and included - you would never know today that they hadn't been there since kindergarten - they are so close to their classmates!

The school is challenging academically, and teachers help students ponder questions and dissect materials that I didn't approach until college. But the kids rise to the expectations. CPLS graduates historically do very well in college because they are so prepared and have learned how to study, analyze, write and present ideas.

The CPLS curriculum integrates God into every class taught, whether it's math, rhetoric, science or music. The school has one of the finest music and arts programs in the area, and children begin presenting yearly theatrical productions in grade school. This improves their public speaking abilities, encourages their creativity and increases their self-confidence at an early age.

One of my favorite things about this unique school are the tours. Beginning in 4th grade, each class goes on a fun, educational tour. The tours consist of day trips for the younger children and increase to week-long learning adventures beginning in 7th grade. Trips include St. Louis, Williamsburg/Jamestown, Washington D.C., New York City, and The Grand Canyon/California. See http://www.cpls.org/current-students/tours/ for more information about these trips. What an amazing opportunity for our students to learn from travel experience!

Your child will be challenged, encouraged and loved as a student at Cair Paravel Latin School (yes, they do learn Latin as part of a classical education. For more on what that means, go here: http://www.cpls.org/about/classical-education/). I encourage your family to come and walk the halls and you will feel the difference at CPLS. Close Quote

Open Quote We have three children who have all attended Cair Paravel since kindergarten. The teachers and administration at the school do a fantastic job of walking alongside parents to guide and educate the students. The structure at CPLS rewards self-control and personal diligence. As our oldest approaches graduation, we can honestly say that the road has not been easy. The academics are incredibly rigorous and the expectations from the teachers are very high. But we know that our children are receiving the kind of educational experience that we wish we could have had. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
