Open Quote ( I wrote this review in the aspect of a student and appreciate the fact that you would take an interest in my opinion)

I believe that this is an excellent school. I graduated Banneker Achievement Center in '08 back when it had grades KG-6th. Currently they have changed to KG-8th. The teachers there really do care about you and make sure that you understand a concept. Banneker is currently ranked #1 in the state of Indiana and the title of being a 5 STAR school. Also, Banneker has shaped the lives of its many former students. In the previous years, Banneker has won the titles of #1 in Spell bowl and #1 in Battle of the Books(which I was the captain of and a team member in 4th-6th grades). To me, I believe Banneker gave me the foundation I needed to succeed in life. After school, our teachers would help us with our work if it was needed. To me, this shows that teachers truly do care about their students. As an addition, I would like to say that I've attended the school since kindergarten and believe that all of the teachers, in each grade, help shape my knowledge. For more information about this school, you can contact the G.T.(gifted and talented) office. I am sorry that I do not have the number on me at the moment. Now, I hope that I have answered any questions that you may have. And if not, I apologize in advance.

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
